Long story short Iphigeneia is originally from land that was mostly just plains as far as one can see. So naturally when she first saw ocean her mind was blown, she hadn't even considered possibility that there could be anything like that in the world. She fell in love with that place. Ever since then she and her owner Gervais have made annual trips to that particular beach.
